Description

 Here's another auction by

Lone Star Trains and Collectibles,

Your Classic Era Train Headquarters!

You are bidding on an EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN Royal Blue set. This is the kind of set that you will NEVER replace as it is as clean as it gets.

This 50T set was an uncatalogued retail set in 1950. It was offered to certain retailers as an enticement to carry the line, and was announced to dealers in Dealer Flyer D1581. This set did NOT appear in the catalog that year. The engine was only available in 1950 as a separate sale item.

This is ALOT of vintage train for the money, and an item you will be proud of. Or perhaps you have an American Flyer collector.

Please take the time to read the whole description below before bidding. We took time in writing it for you.

Here is a detailed breakdown of each item for your consideration:

THE 350 Pacific 4-6-2 Royal Blue

CLEAN. The 4-6-2 die cast steam engine and tinplate tender have been tested and serviced, and it runs well: runs and reverses smoothly. The paint on this unit is amazing--the tender still has a reflective patina. The printing is sharp.
There are some specks in the paint on the locomotive in a few places, but they are pin prick sized. There are the usual paint specks/rubs on the nose of the boiler, as is typical of the streamlined steam engines.
The wrapper is like new, and the printing in the wrapper is as crisp as I have ever seen.  Check it out!
FEATURES

  • Die Cast loco
  • Tinplate tender
  • Reverse
  • Wrapper

631 Texas and Pacific T&P Gondola

The gondola is sharp. The printing is crisp. The box is very good; the stamped end of the box has a small tear in the end flap, but the flaps are intact.

THE 642 Red Boxcar
This car is nice. Again, super clean, strong patina, and strong printing. A beauty. The BOX has one side flap missing on one end.

THE 638 Caboose

Shiny and new. WOW. The BOX is nice as well, but has one loose side flap on one end.

THE 50T SET BOX
Stamped 1950. The original label has old store tape across the middle. There IS wear and some slight flap tears. The top flaps have a little of that top layer cardboard separation. Still has the shipping label as well as the price sticker from Taylor's Home Co of Cleveland, Ohio.

TRACK & Transformer

  • Box of curved track
  • #690 Track lock in envelope
  • #693 Track locks (12) in envelope
  • #1 25 watt transformer is in the original cardboard frame. It is missing one of the posts.
PAPER
  • Two Inspector's Vouchers from 1950
  • Operating Instructions for the Worm Drive Locomotive, M2436
  • Instructions for the #1 25 watt transformer, M2668
  • Authorized Service Stations brochure
  • 1949 M2690 Instruction Book
Not sure it gets much better than this.
