Here is a Lionel 165 Operating Gantry Crane with Electromagnet from 1940-42. Gantry Cranes are one of Lionel‘s greatest accessories. You can rotate the cab right or left, raise and lower the hook, and turn the electromagnet on and off all by remote control. When you turn on the electromagnet you can pick up small steel items and load and unload them, like from your scrap yard and into waiting gondolas. When the electromagnet is on there is also a red light in the cab that illuminates as well. It measures approximately 10 inches in height.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. There are several scratches and nicks on this crane. There are several scratches and nicks on these items. The original box is included, however there are a few tears and rips on this box. Overall condition is Very Good.
